How to create a perfect outfit with jewellery: ideas from professionals

Each one of us knows that feeling, when they open their closet or wardrobe and realise they have nothing to wear. Whether you are getting ready for a special event, or just a casual day at work, choosing an outfit might not be easy. Especially problematic is choosing an outfit for special occasions. However, if you follow the basic rules, you will surely dazzle with your outfit and jewellery wherever you go.

Do not overdo it

First of all, you have to realise that sometimes less is more. With a very expressive outfit, bold jewellery can appear exaggerated and over decorated. The degree of whether you have already overdone it, or it is just right, also depends on the specific event. For example, it is advisable to choose a more expressive outfit for a ball, but for a job interview you should choose something simpler. Skin colour and personal proportions should not be forgotten. Everyone is unique, therefore something different suits them. However, if you are not completely sure, whether you have passed the threshold of taste, it is better to choose a less extravagant visage.

Three colours are enough

Whether it is a casual day or an extraordinary event such as a wedding, party or ball, the golden rule of three colours applies. The overall outfit should not contain more than three colours. This rule applies to both clothing and jewellery colours together. In simple terms, this means that if you are wearing a blue dress, do not combine it with red stones in white or yellow gold on your jewellery. Focus on blue colour and the colour of the metal you use in your accessories. You can combine different colours of gold together, but approach it wisely, taking into account the rule of three colours. Rose and white gold look very elegant together, however, when combined with several colours, they quickly start to clash.

When you don't have time, bet on simplicity

You don't have tens of minutes to choose the right outfit when you overslept in the morning and are running out of time. That's why you shouldn't leave anything to chance and have things ready in advance. Of course, if you have enough time, you can play around with the outfit in the morning and combine colours. However, you should have in your closet or wardrobe something like an emergency outfit that you won't go wrong with and can put together in a few minutes. In these cases, it is best to bet on simplicity and monochromatic clothing. Simple jeans or single-coloured trousers and a plain T-shirt on its own have never not wowed anyone, but they have never spoiled anything either.

In this case, bet on dominant jewellery

The perfect thing about this outfit is that accessories like earrings, rings, necklaces and even shoes can brighten up the whole look and give you a touch of style. With this kind of an outfit, feel free to reach for more expressive accessories that will dominate the outfit. Even the simplest black T-shirt will not appear dull and inconspicuous. If you choose a T-shirt with a lower neckline, feel free to complement it with a bold necklace. In the case of a covered neckline, you can bet on long and dominant earrings with beautiful reflections, which will also elongate your neck. Also, a beautiful watch is not only a very stylish accessory, but also a practical one.

Use your shoes as jewellery

When choosing the right jewellery, don't forget that the right shoes can also act as jewellery. Whether it's stylish trainers from the new collection or pumps with rhinestones, you should also consider shoes as part of accessories and should always match them the right way with other jewellery. Do not forget that the colours of metals are rather difficult to combine. If you choose earrings in white gold with a red diamond and shoes with yellow gold on a strap inlaid with blue stones, in the end it will not complete your outfit, but on the contrary, it will break it. Therefore, combine colours wisely, so that it looks thought through. If you are not sure about your colour combination, choose rather jewellery and accessories in the same colours with a similar motif.

Choose jewellery not only according to your clothes, but also according to your personality

Jewellery that completes the most beautiful and stylish outfits must also fit your personality. In addition to the fact that such jewellery will fit perfectly in colour and style with every piece of your outfit, it will also suit you, your skin and your demeanour. When choosing jewellery, consider what type of person you are. Combinations of white gold or silver and stones perfectly suit an elegant woman with manners, while yellow gold and green emeralds suit a woman, who loves nature and everything related to it.

Don't forget the right size

Every woman is unique. And although they have a lot in common, something else suits each one of them and each one of them wants to emphasize what is most beautiful about them. When we choose clothes, we choose the pieces that benefit our body, fit us and highlight the right features. It should be the same with jewellery. Choose jewellery that accentuates your greatest assets and envelopes imperfections in its shine.

A great example are long and large earrings, suitable for a wedding or a ball. They lengthen the neck beautifully, but you have to choose a length that does not reach your shoulders. Choose the size of the earrings according to your proportions and the occasion you are going to. Do not forget to consider your hairstyle. Tiny wedding earrings won't look good with loose long hair, because the hair will cover them. However, if you choose small diamond earrings with your hair up, you will definitely succeed. Even the tiniest diamond can light up the whole face, thanks to the unique refraction of light.

Layering not only clothes

There are plenty of gorgeous delicate necklaces that shouldn't be missing in any lady's jewellery box. Here, too, we often have to apply the rule that less is sometimes more, but rules are made to be broken. In the case of necklaces, layering is a beautiful example of breaking the rules. You can choose several identical, delicate necklaces, or you can also combine different styles of necklaces. They will beautifully accentuate your cleavage and especially give you an unconventional touch. However, even when layering necklaces, remember the three-colour rule and try not to mix and match styles. If you have a monochrome outfit, a combination of several colours of gold or gold and silver will also look beautiful on your neck. In addition to necklaces, you can layer other jewellery, of course. Layering bracelets, rings and in some cases layering earrings works perfectly.

Which colour of metal to choose?

Lots of women have their favourite colours of metal. Some prefer yellow gold, some prefer silver or white gold. Others like to play with the colours of jewellery and choose the colour according to the outfit. It works the same way for men. Many men have their favourite piece of jewellery they always wear, such as a unique bracelet made of surgical steel or a gold chain. Therefore, choosing the right colour of jewellery depends mainly on our personal preferences.

However, let's not forget the fact that we must not over combine jewellery and at the same time try to stick to the rule of three colours. Of course, like with everything, there are exceptions. Sometimes it doesn't hurt to take a little risk with colours and combine a few, you just have to consider what kind of event it is for. When wearing an outfit for a wedding or a ball, you can let your imagination run wild and appear more cheerful and radiant. However, prefer simplicity when dressing for a job interview.

The last but no less important aspect, when choosing the right colour of jewellery, is the type of your appearance and your skin. We know several types of looks and something different suits everyone. But basically, darker skin types with blue eyes and light hair are more suited to yellow and rose gold or copper jewellery, while lighter skin types with dark eyes and hair are more suited to silver, platinum jewellery or white gold.

When choosing the perfect outfit, we choose jewellery not only according to the clothes and the event, but also according to personal preferences. Sometimes it is appropriate to let go of the reins and choose more extravagant combinations or try new ones. Every piece of jewellery can dazzle and every piece of jewellery is exceptional, just like the person who wears it. For those who want to play it safe, there are plenty of simple jewellery pieces that can be paired with any outfit and still look great.
